WaterAid congratulates Alan HinkesWaterAid supporter and world class high altitude mountaineer Alan Hinkes this year became the first British mountaineer to climb the world's 14 mountains over 8000 metres. |

The 2005 Challenge 8000WaterAid challenged teams around the country to recreate Alan's achievement by climbing the equivalent height of the world's 14 mountains over 8000 metres. On 11 November the challenge was met when more than 300 people took part in this unique event. |
